A quick scroll through our website or Instagram will tell you that around here we love telling stories with photos. Our tagline 'Take Your Face On Vacation' has become not just figurative, but literal, as we take you around to different destinations with our products.
So what goes into a Be Fancy shoot? What do the unedited photos look like? How many shots does it take to get the winner? Keep scrolling as we share mostly unedited outtakes straight from the camera roll, and a few that made the final cut.
Meet 'The Pouch.' This $1.50 pouch fits all the products for easy accessibility, as well as the Google Pixel used to take the pictures. It's perfect for protection from the elements, whether it be beach, rain, or both! Also, it's very easy to tuck under the arm while trekking around hunting for the perfect shot. The Pouch comes everywhere. Literally, everywhere.
Angles matter. So does lens focus and hand placement. Sometimes it takes three takes, sometimes up to 15. Sometimes your arm ends up hurting from the Face Tea hold.
Timing is key when you are coordinating a #facetea shot! There are poses, crowds, sun and background that all have to be taken into account. But the end shot can be pretty awesome.
p.s. tag us in your Face Tea shots to be featured. Where do you Face Tea?
A case study in luck and timing:
They say never work with animals or children...or shadows?
When a dog photo bombs?
You take a dog photo!
#texturetuesday shots of Stay are often held, but sometimes with the right ledge you can get a good angle.
Which brings us to the power of ledges, railings and benches, anything a product (or products) can be safely, or unsafely, balanced on.
Sometimes the products have to be held, but cool backgrounds make up for it!
The best props are found in nature.
Of course, there's the famous Stack.
The camera roll is full of outtakes and photos that never grace the website or Instagram feed, but sometimes, they're the best ones.
So happy to take you on this journey with Be Fancy! And don't forget to tag us in your photos!
